About Me
Hi, I’m Kathy
I’m a trainee Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist, offering online counselling across the UK.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You might be feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed, experiencing difficulties in a relationship, or going through a change or loss, struggling with confidence, or simply wanting to understand yourself better.
You don’t need to be in crisis to come to counselling.
Sometimes it’s simply helpful to have somewhere that is yours, where you can say what you’re really thinking, be curious about yourself and begin to understand things differently.

My style is warm and reflective, but I’m not someone who will just sit silently and nod. I like therapy to feel like a conversation. I’ll listen carefully, ask questions and think alongside you. At times I may gently notice a pattern or wonder about something with you.
I don’t believe therapy is about telling you what to do. Instead, we'll work together to understand what's happening for you and what you might want to change.
My training & experience
Alongside my private work, I’m completing a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy. My training has included therapeutic work with adults within NHS and community mental-health settings, giving me experience of working with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
My training is integrative, which means I’m able to draw on different therapeutic ways of thinking rather than expecting everyone to fit one particular approach. I’m particularly interested in psychodynamic and existential ideas, understanding how our past and relationships may shape us, recognising patterns, and exploring questions around identity, meaning and how we want to live.

Support, clarity, and direction through life's changing tides
Is counselling for me?
You don’t need to be in crisis or have a particular diagnosis to come to counselling.
People seek counselling for all sorts of reasons; perhaps you're feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed, experiencing difficulties in a relationship, going through a change or loss, or simply not quite feeling yourself.
Counselling offers you a space to talk openly, make sense of how you're feeling and explore whatever is important to you.
You don’t need to arrive knowing what to say. We can work that out together.

How can I support you?

People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons.
Whatever has brought you here, counselling can give you space to talk, reflect and make sense of what you are experiencing.
You don't need to wait until things become unbearable before asking for support.
Looking for coaching rather than counselling?
I’m also a qualified Life Coach and offer more focused, goal-oriented coaching for adults who want support with a particular decision, transition or change.

How Counselling works
Counselling doesn’t follow a set formula. What we talk about and where our sessions take us will depend on you and what you bring.
You might come with something specific you’d like to understand or change, or you might simply know that you haven’t been feeling quite yourself lately.
We can begin wherever you are.
Sessions are a space to talk openly, reflect on what’s happening and become curious about the thoughts, feelings, relationships or patterns that emerge. Over time, we may begin to make connections and understand things differently.
I won’t tell you what you should do or decide. We’ll think together about what things mean for you, and what you might want to be different.
You don’t need to prepare for sessions or arrive knowing what you want to talk about.
Free 20-minute introductory chat
Finding the right counsellor matters. Before booking a session, I offer a free 20-minute online chat so that we can meet and get a sense of whether working together feels right.
You can tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling and ask me anything you’d like to know about how I work.
There’s no obligation to book afterwards.
Sessions & fees
Online counselling, £50 per session
Sessions are 50 minutes and usually take place weekly at an agreed time.
Counselling can be short-term or longer-term. We can talk together about what feels most appropriate for you, and review how things are going as we work together.
Sessions take place online via Teams, so I can work with people across the UK.
Payment & cancellations
Payment is made by bank transfer before each session
I ask for 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a session.
